Explore history through the years with a variety of educational and creative projects including, arts, crafts, games, skits and more from different time periods. Each week two or more new eras will be introduced ranging from ancient history to modern American history. Sign-up for all the weeks or just those that interest your camper. Campers must bring their own snacks and non-disposable water bottles. Simple knot-tying, sewing and braiding skills may be required for certain projects. No bus transportation. No camp July 4.
Travel through time during daily field trips to local cultural and historic sites. Field trips will include visits to locations in Skokie, Evanston and Chicago. No bus transportation available to and from camp. Some physical activity including walking and canoeing will be required. Campers must bring sack lunches and non-disposable water bottles.
Checkmate Champions is the future of chess teaching. This camp combines the classical strategies of chess with new and innovative modern technology that creates a fun experience for all kids, regardless of their chess playing abilities. Students will learn the rules, history, and how to record games to reflect on them at a later date. Students will play their favorite chess variation games such as Bughouse (team chess), Allies, Bobby Fischer, and IPad chess. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a real life chess tournament, playing against different opponents and using a tournament clock. Campers are introduced to soccer, t-ball, football, kickball and other group games. Children will develop motor skills, and social and emotional growth through teamwork and good sportsmanship. Kids bring a lunch.
This camp features soccer, baseball, volleyball, floor hockey and group games with a focus on fundamentals and sportsmanship. Includes team and group competition, individual contests, daily prizes and a t-shirt. Outdoor campers bring a water bottle and snack each day.
This camp focuses on improving fundamentals enhancing team. Dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting and individual and team defense and shooting will be developed. Campers will be divided into teaching groups based on age, size and ability. Daily contests and prizes will also be featured. Fee includes camp t-shirt and a basketball. This camp is designed for participanst that want to experience in wrestling. Coachews from Niles West HS will instruct this camp for grades 3-8. Campers will learn fundamental skills, and then apply these newly acquired skills in supervised drill time within weight groups. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

The Hot Shots Sports Staff will demonstrate proper shooting form, while discouraging bad habits. Players will practice their shot in competitive shooting games, and also learn home shooting drills, both of which will turn a good jump shot into a great jump shot!

This camp is designed for any boy looking to play football in the Fall 2017 season. It will prepare them with drills and basic fundamentals. All activities are non-contact, including drills, agilities, formations, route running and player position specifics. We encourage all potential players that participated in our Skokie Park District North-West tackle teams and any additional players from the community looking to play tackle football in the fall.
Learn the basics of volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball and archery. Other activities will include floor hockey, tennis, football and many other recreational sports. During each session, campers will go swimming twice a week. In addition to all-camp special event days, weekly field trips will include a professional baseball game, bowling, Skokie Sports Park, water parks and weekly ice skating. Instructional and skill development will be the main emphasis for weeks one and two. Team games will be introduced throughout the camp session. No Camp July 4th.
The temperature may be hot, but the St. Joan of Arc school gym will offer shade for young athletes to exercise and learn new sport. Campers learn the basics of volleyball, basketball, soccer, floor hockey, softball, football, and many more. Campers will go swimming twice a week, participate in all camp special event days, and field trips. No camp Monday, July 4th!
